Join us in our second year of the sustainability internship programme.

Convatec is seeking a Procurement Plastics intern to join our Procurement team based at our manufacturing site in Deeside, UK to support us on our journey to embed sustainability practices across the company.

This role will support the delivery of key insightson the impact of our resins, as an important part of shaping and deliveringprogress towards our sustainability commitments and ambition.

In particular, the role will developan overview of how different plastics interact with the environment, comparing the carbon footprint and other impacts ofdifferent types of resins.

This internship offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a central part in delivering on Procurement’s scope 3 strategy and to develop broad experience as a member of a high performing team.

In addition, you will support coordination efforts for sustainability activity across the Procurement teamin support of the Category Manager - Plastics and wider team.

1. 100% paid internship – monthly gross
2. 3 Months Internship
3. Hours per week – 20h/week, up to 40h/week

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

4. Work closely with the Category Manager – Plastics to understand all single use plastics that we purchase and find out what happens at the end of life for these products,informingstrategy around our Plastics

5. Carry out desktop research to know whether certain plastics can be returned, and scoping options around a ‘second life’.

6. Evaluate/manage data and compile easy to read reports, charts, graphs for senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

7. Communicate directly with suppliers to get a better understanding of the different single use plastics we purchase, with the potential of visiting supplier locations

8. Complete feasibility study around returning single use plastics which involves discussions with sales teams, customers, logistics and others

9. Complete a comprehensive report clearly explaining how we can reuse single-use plastics

10. Present findings to Procurement Leadership Team

13. Flexible, adaptable and capable of lateral thinking

14. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with ability to multi-task

15. Ability to identify, analyse and plan actions to engage with, communicate with, negotiate with and influence stakeholders

16. Strong user of all Microsoft applications
