Job objectives and responsibilities
* To undertake the planned maintenance and repair of electrical equipment in building(s) as required under contract.
* To undertake other maintenance and reactive tasks within skill set/qualifications.
* To carry out reactive tasks within SLA's.
* This is a static role based at North East Scotland College, Fraserburgh – no vehicle provided.
* Use of Pool Vehicle as required.
* Customer-facing role – must have good people skills.
Main duties
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.
* Carry out Reactive and emergency tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
* Ability to produce permit to work/risk assessments as required.
* Identify and action any faults/remedial works in conjunction with the Helpdesk.
* Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks.
* Assist other team members when required or as directed by Supervisor/Managers.
* Ensure all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
* Work with visiting sub-contractors regarding standard of work and Health and Safety.
* Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
* All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Complete work-related documentation accurately and on time, including purchase card receipts, timesheets, and mileage returns.
* Maintain excellent customer relations with on-site clients at all times.
* Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
* Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Attend and participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
* Undertake additional duties as required and in line with capabilities.
* Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
Person Specification
* Qualified to City & Guilds Level or equivalent in relevant disciplines.
* 18th Edition Qualification.
* Commercial Electrical Experience – working in commercial environments.
* Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on equipment such as boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power, and lighting.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
* Strong customer care focus.
* Good communication skills.
* Proactive and capable of diagnosing and repairing faults.
* Ability to complete paperwork accurately and timely.
