Are you a proven people manager, in the certification or testing industry, looking for your next step?

BSI has a fantastic opportunity for a Certification Team Manager to join our electrical & electronics certification team.

As our new Certification Team Manager, your role will be key to the development and growth of the electrical certification schemes. You will be responsible for overseeing the department's budget, ensuring customer satisfaction, scheme growth, and operational delivery both within the UK and globally.

Another key aspect of this role is to lead, develop, and manage a team of certification managers within our electrical schemes, requiring strong people and team leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

* Proactive management of the team to ensure effective delivery of client projects to the highest quality, complying with operational and administrative procedures and service level agreements.
* Review and improve processes for effective and efficient deployment of certification services to clients.
* Monitor client satisfaction and address complaints or queries promptly.
* Manage and execute client projects to meet commitments.
* Contribute to budgets with Finance for annual revenue and costs, including forecasting and managing budget changes.
* Meet revenue and profitability targets for the section.
* Act as the key contact and account manager for BSI regional offices, sales, business development, and customers worldwide to ensure efficiency and growth.
* Represent BSI at industry events and committees to maintain knowledge, develop strategy, and position thought leadership.
* Suggest initiatives to promote and grow the business based on market intelligence.
* Develop new products, services, and markets, justify opportunities to senior management.
* Maintain quality and accreditation standards and ensure new business areas meet requirements.


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

* Experience managing remote teams effectively.
* Passionate about coaching and developing others.
* Experience in electrical certification schemes (e.g., IECQ, ENEC, CCA, IECEE CB Scheme) is highly desirable.
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
* Experience with testing and certification activities, including trade body certification.
* Knowledge of international quality standards (ISO 17025, ISO Guide 65).
* Experience in developing new business areas globally.
* Budgeting and cost control experience.
* Solutions-oriented with a positive attitude.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues to diverse audiences.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Familiarity with office IT systems.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
