Role: Domiciliary Optical Assistant
Ready to take your skills on the road? As a home visits optical assistant at Specsavers, you can do just that.
You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who aren’t able to come into our stores. But not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll be able to support them to get basic tasks done that they wouldn’t be able to do without you. Essentially, you’ll be bringing smiles and clinical care to the heart of your community.
Our business
In this role you’ll cover most of the TQ postcode and Plymouth area, providing care to vulnerable patients. Our ideal candidate will preferably live within the TQ postcode area.

We have a wonderful existing team of dedicated people from optical and administrative backgrounds, who are ready and waiting for you to meet.
Our cars
You can choose either a company car or a £3,000 car allowance which will allow you to bring your care and services directly to people’s homes.

* Salary up to £27,000 dependent on experience
* Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday – core hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm (Flexibility required)

What we’re looking for?
To be a home visits optical assistant you need the following core skills:
* Previous optical experience (at least 6 months-1 year) and be confident dispensing at all levels, measuring and fitting
* Must have a full UK driving licence and be a confident driver
Desirable experience
* Previous experience in a fast‑paced customer facing environment
* Experience in optical environment
* Basic knowledge/experience of optical
* Be confident using new systems as well as tablet and/or laptop
