Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director of Listed Infrastructure, the Associate is accountable for assisting the Listed Infrastructure team in the identification, evaluation, and analysis of public infrastructure opportunities.
The Listed Infrastructure (LI) program seeks to deliver on a relative performance (alpha) objective in-line with the departmental target through in-depth fundamental equity analysis. LI undertakes a consistent process with the broader Infrastructure and Real Assets teams so as to facilitate relative value considerations and to help inform capital allocation.
What you will do:
* Examine and analyse potential global listed infrastructure investments with a primary focus on valuation. This will be undertaken through detailed financial modelling of forecasted cash-flows and through robust relative risk assessment, including sensitivity analysis.
* Compile industry and market data to identify emerging trends and assess potential investment opportunities.
* Remain current on market and industry developments to help frame investment strategies.
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of Investment Committee memoranda; participate in Investment Committee discussions.
* Participate in the monitoring and management of the investment portfolio through formal semi-annual reviews and other informal meetings.
* Compile data and financial information as needed to assist in managing the listed infrastructure portfolio.
* Benchmark investment performance and prepare reports for senior management.
* Collaborate as needed with teams in listed real assets, private infrastructure, credit, public equities, and other business areas.
* Other relevant duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
* Commensurate years of relevant work experience in infrastructure and / or investment management; prior experience in public infrastructure is preferred.
* Relevant experience may include asset management, valuation, investment banking, equity research or similar; strong accounting knowledge would be an advantage.
* Specific experience in regulated utility, transport infrastructure, and communication infrastructure, particularly within the US or Latin America, would be an advantage.
* Undergraduate business, finance, real estate, infrastructure, or economics degree
* Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills (DCF and financial modelling).
* Solid understanding of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Bloomberg and other financial data portals.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build working relationships internally and externally.
* Demonstrated passion for investing.
* Multilingualism may be advantageous.
* Ability to apply consistent investment judgement and to discern and focus on what is important.
* Team player who enjoys a high performing culture.
* Willingness and interest in working across multiple infrastructure sectors and geographies.
* Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and initiative.
* Willingness and ability to travel.
