Overview
Fylde Coast RITT is an Older Adults Community Mental Health Crisis service based at the Lytham Unit, Lytham hospital. The service operates 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm, and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with close links to other health departments, social services and voluntary agencies. Our users may present with functional and organic mental health difficulties combined with complex social, physical and environmental needs.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of community services through assessment, treatment planning and delivery of evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions.
* Apply a deep understanding of the relationship between occupation and mental health to maintain, restore or create a beneficial match between a person’s abilities, occupational demands (self‑care, productivity and leisure) and environmental constraints.
* Deliver a range of individual and group interventions, drawing from relevant frames of reference and demonstrating sophisticated clinical reasoning skills.
* Prioritise planning and delivering interventions for individuals whose mental health problems significantly impact occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs.
* Balance specialist occupational therapy provision with shared roles that support the efficient functioning of the team.
Qualifications
* Substantial experience and specialist interest in mental health occupational therapy.
* Expertise in applying occupational therapy models such as the one adapted from Creek 2003.
* Strong clinical reasoning and ability to support complex occupational needs.
* Commitment to maintaining a multidisciplinary working approach.
