The Role
Working within our Bootle Commercial department, you will assist with the financial, contractual, and commercial management of infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, groundworks, earthworks). Under the guidance of senior professionals, you will ensure projects remain within budget and completed on schedule, acting as a liaison between site teams, subcontractors, and clients. This role is a mix of office-based duties and site visits to monitor progress and measure completed work.
Responsibilities
* Assist with analysing subcontract quotations
* Assist with reviewing conditions and/or qualifications prior to submission of a tender.
* Assist with the preparation of interim applications, including works executed, materials on site and works by subcontractors submitted to the Client’s team by agreed deadline.
* Assist with contract variations and help evaluate and measure these with Senior Quantity Surveyors
* Assist with the procurement of subcontractors.
* Assist with generating payments and distribute notices to suppliers and subcontractors, including the measurement of works and differences executed to evaluate final costs and accounts.
* Contribute to the submission of weekly financial forecasting including the assembling of contract costs.
Qualifications
* Working towards a Quantity Surveying Degree
* Demonstrate a strong interest in the commercial aspects of engineering.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Able to work both as part of a team and independently.
* Hold a full manual driving licence.
Terms & Conditions
* Placement term: 8 – 10 weeks
* Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00 pm
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
* A fair and competitive salary, taking into consideration market rates and your experience level.
