This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, self-motivated, and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapy Service. Supported by a multidisciplinary team, you will develop your skills in a highly specialist and rewarding setting.
Location and Responsibilities
Based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital near Cardiff, you will provide specialist assessments and interventions to palliative care patients within the Health Board. You will manage an independent caseload, delivering evidence-based, high-quality interventions.
Development and Support
Enjoy learning opportunities such as a Band 6 Development Framework, tailored training passports, and peer support to enhance your skills in occupational therapy, leadership, and management.
Teamwork and Collaboration
Work closely with the MDT, Principal OT, Discharge Liaison Team, and Local Authorities to ensure effective cross-boundary working. You will collaborate with patients and families to identify goals, conduct assessments, and facilitate patients' ability to remain at home.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Understanding of manual handling and end-of-life issues
* Motivated, enthusiastic, with strong communication skills
* Welsh language skills at Level 3 (desirable)
