Offer description

The Role We’re looking for a driven Quantity Surveyor to work on our Friary Park Estate Transformation, a flagship scheme based in the heart of West London and opposite Acton Main Line station, with fast connections into Central London via the Elizabeth line Currently in preconstruction on Phase 3. With Phase 1 currently in construction, the project will deliver 1228 new homes once completed. Along with a community kitchen, edible garden and affordable workspaces. Phase 3 is set to commence in the latter part of 2026 and comprises of a further 750 homes, so you’ll have the unique opportunity to join a scheme right from the beginning and be involved from procurement through to final accounts. Working hand in hand with the Construction, Technical and Cost planning teams, you’ll be an integral part of procuring quality packages within budget. You'll play a pivotal role in managing commercial elements of the scheme: with a heavy focus initially on procurement of packages, such as facades, groundworks and RC frame, in sync with our tender event schedule, as the scheme commences and progresses you will be involved with further packages across the project. Owning package management, identifying value creation opportunities and having an input in the intricate realms of CVRs and cashflow forecasting. You’ll enjoy building strong relationships with teammates, vendors and subcontractors alike and will be proficient in Excel and payment systems. You’ll need to have experience working on mid to high rise mixed use residential schemes and procuring major subcontractor packages, as well as managing these accounts throughout delivery. Ours is a high-performance culture. High performance in this role is having the commercial and relational acumen to deliver quality packages consistently and within budget. You’ll be a seasoned negotiator, have good contract knowledge, strongly numerate and love getting into the detail, and will be analytical enough to handle cost estimations and risk assessments. You’ll be a self-motivated and hardworking type of teammate who’s ready for a fresh new challenge. This is a culture where you’ll be giving and getting feedback from day one, because we think it’s the fastest way to learn and to build trust. We want to be challenged by you, too – we hate unnecessary hierarchy and “my way or the highway” has no place here. So, if you’re interested in working on a new flagship scheme apply now! Mount Anvil What we do: We’ve worked in partnership for 33 years to create outstanding places in London. We’re growing, with our construction turnover doubling, and with a pipeline of new projects where we’re raring to get started and make a difference. Why we’re here: We’re here to pursue better, differently. Better : One of The Sunday Times’ “100 Best Small Companies to Work For” for over a decade, winner of multiple Pride In The Job and WhatHouse awards for our people and the quality of our homes, and proud to have the nation’s best site in our ranks (winning the highest possible marks across the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s five areas – the first site ever to do so in 22 years of the CCS). Differently: Our culture is unusual. Different means more transparent with information. More direct with feedback that helps us all grow. More rigorous about setting goals, then giving more freedom to go and achieve them. It’s definitely not for everyone. We don’t hire know-it-alls, we hire “learn-it-alls”. As our CEO, Killian, says: “We work hard to find people who thrive on context and responsibility, rather than rules and procedures. We then work like owner managers, not a leader and a load of helpers. ” Benefits: Private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality (including discounts on spa breaks, cinema tickets and your food shopping, free Starbucks, 50% off Virgin Active Membership and more). Income Protection Insurance to help you cope financially if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, Life Assurance equivalent to four times your salary, your annual leave & Bank Holidays, enhanced maternity and paternity leave and workplace nursery salary sacrifice, allowing you to save tax and NI on monthly nursery fees. We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference – we dislike hierarchy and politics, and “not my job” isn’t in our vernacular. Which means if you really care about raising the bar and really want to feel connected to the end product, as opposed to like a cog in a big machine, this could be the place for you to grow your career.
