Job Description Audit Senior York (Office based) Salary: 38-50k per annum Experience: Practice audit experience required Overview We are supporting a well-established accountancy practice to recruit an Audit Senior. This role suits someone who enjoys leading audits end-to-end, building strong client relationships, and supporting junior team members, with clear scope to develop your technical and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a varied client portfolio Prepare and review audit files, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards Produce audit programmes, risk assessments, and completion documentation Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and provide a professional service Support and coach junior colleagues on-site and in the office, reviewing work and giving feedback Identify issues, recommend improvements, and escalate risks to managers/partners where needed Assist with wider accounts work where required (depending on client and team needs) What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice audit role (ideally operating at Senior level) Part-qualified or qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) is welcome, but experience is key Confident leading audits and managing your own workload across multiple assignments Strong communication skills and a calm, organised approach with clients and colleagues Good working knowledge of audit methodology and file completion standards Full UK driving licence preferred (depending on client site requirements) What’s On Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Hybrid and flexible working (role dependent) Supportive team environment with strong development and progression Exposure to a varied client base and interesting audit work Study support (where applicable)
