Responsibilities
As a Children's Residential Social Care worker, you will work as part of a team, ensuring the holistic needs of the children are met. You will support children in all areas of their lives, such as forming positive relationships, health, education, family time and leisure activities, and contribute to making the house a home. You will work a shift pattern on a rota, which will be published one month in advance, including shifts such as 2pm‑12 midnight (sleep‑in), 7am‑3pm, 8am‑4pm, and 2pm‑10am.
Qualifications
* Have relevant personal or work experience caring for children, young people or vulnerable adults.
* Have an awareness of the social, cultural, emotional and physical developmental needs of children.
* Be able to work as a team member and on your own initiative.
* Be able to use varied communication methods well, including verbal, written and electronic.
* Be willing to complete the level three Diploma in Residential Care within two years of commencing employment.
* A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
* This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.
