Responsibilities and duties of the Shift Team Leader role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
Day-to-day leadership of the shift operations team who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
Managing the sites safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as a HV Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching, and carrying out isolations.
Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work.
Providing effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties.
Providing effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health and Safety policies
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally qualified with a minimum ONC / HNC / HND in Engineering or equivalent
IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
Time served Apprentice in Engineering would be advantageous
Personal skills
The Shift Team Leader role would suit someone who has:
At least five years' experience working in an supervisory capacity on a similar heavy industry plant - ideally utilising high pressure steam systems such as Power Plants, Refineries, COMAH sites etc.
Flexibility to work days & nights on shift
