The role
We’re now looking for a motivated & experienced Account Handler (Commercial) to join us here at the Jensten Group. We arrange insurance either directly with policyholders or via other insurance brokers who come to us because of our range of products and excellent service levels. Reporting to the manager, the main purpose of the role is to retain & renew clients from the book of business, handle MTA’s as required, and assist with any client queries. The role involves a varied client base with a mix of Commercial and Corporate accounts. It is based from our Cheadle office, with hybrid working options available once settled into the role. Key objectives & responsibilities include:
* Offer and present insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business. Communicate regularly with colleagues and managers to address concerns and propose solutions.
* Identify and pursue cross-selling, up-selling, and similar opportunities. Utilize all leads provided and develop new methods to increase quote volume.
* Achieve or exceed targets for Quotes/Sales/Income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
* Understand clients’ business operations, opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance.
* Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.
About you
You will have excellent communication and written skills, with a keen eye for detail. You are eager to develop your skills and can expect career progression, training, and development within the role and the insurance industry. You should also have:
* Insurance background, especially in Property (essential) and Commercial (ideal)
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them
* Great customer service skills
* Excellent telephone manner and ability to network and build relationships
* Drive and passion for learning and development in insurance
* Experience working with insurers and clients in a similar role
* Ability to use initiative, multi-task, and update systems and admin efficiently
* Knowledge of Acturis systems (preferably)
