Are you an experienced Midwife and Obstetric Sonographer within the field of Fetal Medicine? This new role at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals offers the opportunity to provide leadership and midwifery direction, influencing the future evolution of the Fetal Medicine Service across the North East and North Cumbria.

Hours: 37 per week
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical practice, advice and consultancy for patients, carers and colleagues within Fetal Medicine both locally and nationally.
* Lead practice and service developments, ensuring maintenance of clinical excellence underpinned by evidence‑based practice.
* Undertake complex audit projects, using research methodology to evaluate inter‑professional systems and align with local and national guidelines.
* Initiate and support research projects to advance the field of Fetal Medicine.
* Act as a role model and represent the Fetal Medicine Service and wider Perinatal Service locally and nationally.
* Deliver and shape the development of multi‑professional education and training at local and national levels.
* Fulfil the four domains of the NMAHP Consultant function:
o Advanced and expert level practice within Fetal Medicine.
o Leadership and consultancy.
o Development and provision of education and training.
o Service development, evaluation, research and audit.
Competencies and Qualifications
* Clinical expert in Fetal Medicine and Obstetric Ultrasound.
* Strong leadership and consultancy skills.
* Experience in education and training development.
* Atrisk‑based audit and research experience.
* Successful completion of a DBS check and reference evidence covering at least three years of employment.
