Clinical Support Worker Higher Level – Workington Community Nurses

If you are looking to become part of a friendly community nursing team, providing holistic care in the home environment, this role is for you. The post is a 30‑hour position with a service that runs 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Daily shift patterns run from 08:30 to 22:30, with weekend working on a rotational basis. Flexible working is required to meet the needs of the patient group. The Care Group is commissioned to provide 24/7 nursing services.
Main duties of the job
* Work as a Health Care Assistant in a multi‑disciplinary team, supporting other health and social care professionals.
* Follow the direction of a registered health care professional and undertake a range of duties, including clinical observations and recording patient information.
* Perform catheterisation, venepuncture, wound care and support the diabetes caseload.
* Contribute to the ethos of multi‑disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services, ensuring patient care is delivered to the highest standard.

Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent clinical care experience.
* National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of starting.
* Numeracy and literacy level 2.
* Relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.
* Experience of working in health or social care.
* Experience of recording clinical observations and escalating findings.
* Knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision, safeguarding, GDPR and NHS policies.
* Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (standard or enhanced depending on the role). DBS charges will be deducted from salary.
Salary
£25,760 to £27,476 a year, pro rata.
