Role Overview
SSEN Transmission is seeking an Auxiliary Technician to contribute to our goal of achieving Net Zero. The Auxiliary Technicians provide front-line technical expertise and coordinate daily work within Substation Auxiliary systems.
You Will
1. Inspect, operate, and maintain Transmission Substation Auxiliary services such as Standby Generator sets, Batteries, and LVAC assets.
2. Collaborate with Substation Maintenance teams and stakeholders to coordinate inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
3. Manage high-value, network-critical electrical assets hands-on.
4. Interpret inspection data, manage remediation, and ensure safe, efficient network operation.
5. Accurately record work completed and identify trends in asset defects and failures.
You Have
* Previous experience as an Electrical Technician, Standby Generator Technician, or similar; substation experience is advantageous.
* Experience in the Electrical or Electronics industry.
* Experience coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
* Ability to supervise complex tasks independently.
* SVQ/NVQ qualification in STEM or working towards it.
