About The Role
As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will use your clinical expertise to assess how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life. You will handle complex cases involving veterans, neurological conditions, industrial injuries, and respiratory diseases. Your assessments will inform the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) eligibility decisions.
The role includes a 6‑week training programme, ongoing mentorship and support, and access to a full suite of professional development resources.
Work Hours
Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00 (Hybrid)
Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life.
* Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help the DWP determine a person’s eligibility for benefits.
* Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills through regular feedback and supervision.
Requirements
* Valid GMC registration number.
* At least 1 year of post‑registration experience, gained within or outside the NHS.
* Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports.
