We are seeking a dedicated and patient tutor who can provide tuition with elements of mentoring for a young learner with a diagnosis of ASD and ADHD, alongside associated difficulties. The student is polite, engaging, and responds well to project-based learning, though he has faced challenges accessing mainstream education due to EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) and sensory sensitivities.
Your role will focus on:
- Supporting the student to develop engagement in learning.
- Encouraging participation in at least one academic activity per week (e.g., Maths, Science experiments, or project work).
- Creating a positive, structured, and sensory-aware learning environment.
Our ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with ASD/ADHD and understanding of sensory needs.
- Ability to deliver creative, project-based learning and adapt to the student's interests.
- Strong mentoring skills to build confidence and motivation.
Sessions will take place in a safe and supportive environment and there is flexibility in scheduling to suit both the tutor and the student.
