Main duties of the job
We’re seeking an experienced Healthcare Support Worker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, keen to learn and acquire new clinical skills to work alongside our nursing teams. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed, and professional, ensuring the best patient and family experience. Candidates should be excellent team players with the ability to use their own initiative and judgment to resolve issues. They should also possess a tactful, sensitive manner, work well under pressure, and be flexible and proactive in suggesting improvements.
Previous Healthcare Support Workers' experience and successful completion of the Care Certificate (or equivalent healthcare qualification) are essential, along with demonstrating compassion and a commitment to learning new skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Summary:
* Undertake delegated clinical skills demonstrating competency and technical expertise as per the care plan.
* Prepare patients, families, and environment for clinical activities, supporting and reassuring patients and their families, and preparing equipment as needed.
* Closely monitor patients post-procedure to ensure safety, comfort, and well-being.
* Assist patients of all genders with personal care, maintaining dignity and privacy, and encouraging participation.
* Assess and monitor skin integrity, reporting any changes or concerns immediately.
* Demonstrate clinical competence in minor dressings and treatments as specified in the care plan, in consultation with registered practitioners.
* Communicate effectively with patients and families, using alternative communication methods when needed, and arranging support to aid understanding.
* Prepare healthcare records for appointments and procedures to ensure smooth ward/department operations.
