Role Overview:
As an Agency Care Home Worker, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on care to residents in care homes, assisting with daily activities and ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. You will work under the guidance of senior staff, adhering to care plans and providing emotional, physical, and social support to residents. Your role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of care, respect, and dignity for every individual.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including support with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
• Monitor and record the health and well-being of residents, reporting any changes in condition to senior staff or management.
• Assist with administering medications and treatments as required and directed by healthcare professionals.
• Help create and maintain care plans, ensuring that individual needs are met and updated regularly.
• Foster a warm and caring environment, offering emotional support to residents and their families.
• Support residents in participating in social activities, encouraging engagement and maintaining independence where possible.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both residents and staff.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and families, providing updates and addressing concerns.
• Uphold the values of dignity, respect, and confidentiality in all aspects of care.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a care home or similar healthcare setting
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward providing care.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and training relevant to the role.
