Job Summary
In this role, you will carry out and be competent in the various production activities within your respective Department and set up/operate various machines in the manufacture of medical device components.
You will demonstrate and use a proactive mindset in order to actively develop processes to increase automation and utilisation of equipment. Responsible for supporting and contributing to Lean Sigma programs and activities, whilst supporting Supervisors and Managers to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives. You would also be expected to Mentor and share best practices with less experienced colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. The job holder is required to be competent in all processes within their respective Department
2. The job holder is aware of all relevant procedures as per company policy that apply to the position
3. Understand the scheduling list to ensure the correct components are being produced throughout the manufacturing unit
4. You would also be expected to Mentor and share best practices with less experienced colleagues and ensure that Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to
5. Take a pro-active approach to HSE
6. Ensure Material availability at each process step
7. Co-ordinate resources to ensure priorities are met
8. Communicate and action Cell Performance incl. HSE, Quality and Output
9. Ensure Tier 0 & Tier 1 are maintained and up to date
10. Ensure effective TPM/6S activities are completed and maintained
11. Undertake in-line evaluation and measurement of product within the Finishing department
12. Carry out machine set ups and adjustments as required
13. Cover breaks, absence throughout production when required
14. Liaise with the Shift Technician to ensure any equipment faults or instances of poor quality are investigated, resolved in a timely fashion
15. Ensure any issues beyond their control are escalated to their Supervisor
16. Cover for the Shift Supervisor in their absence, to include, Production data input (OEE, Daily Output Reports), lead daily LDMS meeting, attend weekly Operations meeting (when on shift). Carry out Return to Work Interviews, be the responsible person on shift
17. Carry out other duties where trained, as requested by the Production Supervisor or Production Manager
Education
18. High School Diploma or equivalent required and
19. Bachelor's Degree or working towards preferred
Qualifications/ Skills/ Abilities:
Minimum
20. ILM Level 2 Supervisory Skills
21. Experience of working in and operating manufacturing equipment/machinery
22. Full knowledge of products and their functions
23. Experienced in guiding a team
24. Competent in written and verbal use of the English language
25. Competent in basic numeracy
26. Basic computer literacy
Desirable
27. Technical Operator apprenticeship or similar
28. Level 3 IOSH Managing Safely
29. Minimum Level 2 qualification in the English language
30. Minimum Level 2 qualification in numeracy
31. ECDL qualification
Work Experience
32. Minimum 5 years required

Physical Requirements
Heavy-Exerting up to 100lbs/45kg of force occasionally and/or up to 50lb/22kg of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force constantly to move objects.
