Job Description
To provide efficient and effective reception and clerical support within the nursery.
Requirements
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act, it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
Responsibilities
Provide a general reception service to members of the public and visitors to the nursery.
Provide a clerical support service to the nursery.
Provide a general support service to the nursery.
Participate in the Council's employee review and development programme.
The Individual
Experience in clerical work including figure work, data entry, word processing, record keeping and filing
Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, email, Intra/Internet
4 SQA National 5 grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Maths/Arithmetic *
Recognised qualification for word processing, e.g. ICDL or equivalent *
Recognised qualification for spreadsheets, e.g. ICDL or equivalent *
High level of accuracy in work
Ability to prioritise own workload
Ability to use initiative in day to day tasks
Ability to participate as a team member
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to deliver a high level of customer care
Effective organisational and time management skills
Self confident and self motivated
Appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to the importance of confidentiality
Experience of operating software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
