You will play a crucial role in owning, designing, managing and optimising the databases and bridging the gap between development and operations. VARIED DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES Strong proficiency in MySQL and MSSQL database management, with at least 3 years in a DBA Role Experience with design, build and configuration of a database system for high performance, availability, scalability within a microservice architecture across the Azure Cloud Estate Experience in Azure Cloud Database management Understanding MySQL/MSSQL underlying storage engines. Knowledge of de facto standards and best practices in MySQL and MSSQL Server Experience as a DBA in a cloud infrastructure environment. Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimisation (PTO) of database systems. Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models Desirable experience in HA/DR WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE? Database Administration: Manage, monitor, and optimize our database systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Database Design: Design and build a highly resilient database environment Cloud Migration: Lead and assist in the migration of databases in Azure, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and system architects, to support application deployment and performance tuning. Continuous Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, sharing insights with the team. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database architecture, DevOps processes, and migration strategies. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Experience of Agile working would be advantageous.
