Shape the future of automation at one of the UK’s most advanced steel sites We’re looking for a Process Control & Automation Engineer to join our Cold Rolled Products team in Port Talbot. You’ll be part of the group that keeps our cutting-edge automation and control systems running at their best – from PLCs and SCADA to instrumentation, networks, and environmental monitoring. This isn’t just a maintenance role, it’s about problem-solving, innovating, and making real improvements to systems that keep our site safe, efficient, and productive. What you will do: You’ll play a leading role in the maintenance, development and troubleshooting of all PC&A systems on site. Your work will directly support plant availability, performance and compliance, and you’ll be a trusted expert for both shift and day-based teams. Your responsibilities will include: Keeping our automation and control systems running smoothly Diagnosing, fixing, and improving control systems and equipment Developing new solutions for plant performance and reliability Supporting projects, upgrades, and system enhancements Advising and supporting other teams with your technical expertise Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards What you will need: We’re looking for engineers with experience in control systems, automation, or electrical engineering. Whether you’re degree-qualified, HNC/HND, or have built your expertise through hands-on experience, we’re keen to hear from you. If you’ve worked with PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, or industrial networks and you enjoy solving problems, you’ll fit right in. Experience in a heavy industrial or safety-critical environment would be great, but it’s not essential – we’ll support you to develop in any areas you haven’t covered yet.
