This role provides a unique overview of the many and varied clinical and managerial challenges involved in running a busy acute hospital site. We are seeking applications from experienced nurses to join our established team of nurses who provide senior nursing support to the hospital site 24/7/365. A broad overview of responsibilities includes managing the Trust’s bed capacity, assisting in the achievement of key performance and quality standards (e.g. emergency and elective admission access targets, single sex accommodation, infection control), supporting nursing, medical, and ancillary staff as well patients and their relatives - providing overall responsibility for the hospital site out of hours with support from the on-call senior manager and the executive on call.

Candidates will have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience and will have a minimum of one year previous clinical leadership / team leader experience in an acute setting. Confidence in acute clinical skills and evidence of professional development will be required. This challenging role requires a broad knowledge of clinical specialties and good problem-solving skills combined with a flexible and adaptable approach. Essential criteria
1. The CSM will be an allied health professional or first level registered nurse with a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development to masters level or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience at Band 6 working in acute areas or in an operational leadership role.

3. Excellent level of organisational skills.
4. Good analytical skills and confident to mitigate risks appropriately
5. Knowledge of current issues in relation to nursing and health care.
6. Advanced keyboard skills and ability to use multi IT systems.
