Job Summary: To maintain a safe and timely traffic flow of vehicles in and out of site whilst ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to. Responsible to: Transport Supervisor Night Transport Operations Manager Performance Standards: You will be expected to complete your duties in a professional manner and to a high level. Skills/requirements: Excellent communication skills A good working knowledge of health and safety Banks man trained (advantageous) Good time management skills Previous parcel industry experience (advantageous) Counterbalance Forklift truck licence (advantageous) Main duties: The main areas of responsibility and expectations for this role are as detailed below: Monitor the flow of traffic around the site ensuring movement is continual and congestion is kept to a minimum Liaise with drivers and assist with issues when required Assisting with the reversing trailer and vehicles onto the doors. Opening and closing of the curtains and internal straps on the trailers. Safety of the operatives when assessing and egressing the vehicle-trailers onto the bay doors May need to cover shift on the crossing training given to use the traffic light system.
