Role Overview
As a Roofing Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed roof inspections, assessing the condition of existing roofs, preparing accurate reports, and producing quotations for remedial or replacement works. You'll act as a key link between clients, site teams, and management, ensuring projects are scoped correctly and delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out thorough roof surveys for domestic, commercial, and industrial properties.
* Identify defects, measure roof areas, and assess repair/replacement requirements.
* Prepare detailed reports with photographs, condition notes, and recommendations.
* Produce accurate costings, quotations, and specifications for proposed works.
* Advise clients on suitable roofing systems, materials, and solutions.
* Liaise with the operations team to hand over project requirements.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and industry regulations.
* Provide technical expertise and support to both clients and internal teams.
* Maintain clear records of surveys, inspections, and client communications.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience as a Roofing Surveyor, Site Supervisor, or in a similar role within the roofing/construction industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of pitched, flat, and industrial roofing systems (GRP, liquid, felt, tiles, slate, etc.).
* Ability to produce accurate surveys, reports, and costings.
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic digital tools.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
Desirable
* Formal roofing or construction qualifications (NVQ, HNC, CIOB, or equivalent).
* Knowledge of AutoCAD or surveying software.
* If you also hold exeperience in estimating that will also be a plus
* CSCS card or relevant health & safety certification.
