Job Overview
The Ward Assistant will maintain a sustainable, efficient, and welcoming ward environment. By ensuring equipment and supplies are well organised and the nurses’ station is clutter‑free, the role supports timely patient flow and allows registered nurses to focus on direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure a sustainable workplace organisation method, with all equipment and supplies located efficiently.
* Keep the nurses’ station clutter‑free, methodical and timely to facilitate patient flow.
* Perform routine observations of the ward environment, maintaining cleanliness, safety and efficiency.
* Clean clinical areas using appropriate equipment, materials and cleaning products according to required methods and frequencies.
* Carry out ward‑based catering tasks and assist with the movement of patients.
* Manage stock control, ensuring supplies are stocked, labelled, charged and ready for use.
* Assist with administrative duties related to the ward to release nursing time for direct patient care.

Desirable criteria: Welsh language skills and meets all desirable criteria as defined in the attached specification.

Pay
The salary will be as per the 2026/27 Agenda for Change Pay Award, effective from 1 April 2026.
