You will be joining an experienced team of fellow professionals at WithYou Wigan & Leigh who work hard to support each other and deliver exceptional care to our clients.
Job Opportunity
As a Prevention and Engagement Worker, you will be working in close partnership with other health care professionals, partner agencies, service commissioners, and internal clinical/mental health teams to ensure that our clients receive prompt advice and treatment.
A key element of the role will be to assist in the delivery of an integrated service by completing assessments, recovery plans, referrals, support, care coordination and appropriate interventions (e.g. psychosocial, pharmacotherapy, harm reduction).
You’ll also be able to confidently and expertly assess WithYou clients, carrying out triage and comprehensive assessment, as required and making appropriate onward referrals to specialist agencies.
We are looking for a positive and motivated candidate who is able to communicate with a wide range of other professionals and in different settings. You will also be results driven, highly organised with excellent time management and caseload management skills including risk assessments, care plans and PSI interventions.
Essential Skills
To be successful in the role, you will have:
* evidence of continuous professional development
* an OCN/NVQ level 3, or equivalent, or willing to achieve this within 12 months
* demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
* knowledge and experience of substance misuse and issues affecting individuals who may use drugs or alcohol
* a successful track record of working with substance misuse clients
* strong communication skills
* knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients
* knowledge and understanding of group working, assessments, care planning and key working, harm reduction, issues affecting substance misusers, rehabilitation, solution-focused brief therapy
* the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
* the ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
