HMRC Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) is transitioning to a products and platforms model, which will influence our ways of working and roles. This role emphasizes platform technology ownership, focusing on platform lifecycle, environment management, and infrastructure responsibilities. Product managers will concentrate on developing and delivering individual products, prioritizing user and customer needs. Platform Owners oversee broader infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for ecosystem consumers, customers, and developers.
Job Description
The Networks Cloud Platform Owner oversees the direction, development, integration, and management of a technology platform or feature, maintaining the Cloud network Backlog. They ensure the performance of microservices, modules, and products within the platform. They embody leadership behaviors, inspiring teams to develop and grow internal talent.
This role is within the CDIO Chief Platform Office, Network Services Team, supporting the transition to a Managed Service Provider.

Roles and Responsibilities
* Serve as the conduit between CDIO platform teams and 3rd Party Suppliers, including the network MSP, for cloud networks and tooling.
* Manage a platform or feature, setting priorities and leading the platform team.
* Develop strategic roadmaps with Lead Platform Owner and Network architects, ensuring platform maintenance and improvement.
* Coordinate with other platform owners to align strategic plans.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand and incorporate business and CDIO priorities into platform plans.
* Collaborate with teams to enhance customer experience and deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
* Use insights from CRM teams to develop solutions addressing customer needs.
* Engage with industry networks to stay informed on trends and best practices.
* Build relationships with third-party providers for mutual benefits.
* Promote user-centered, agile working methods across teams.
* Partner with Practice Owners/Managers to clarify roles and responsibilities.
* Lead, coach, and mentor platform teams to high performance.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in developing strategic Cloud solutions within complex organizations.
* Proven in Cloud platform/product ownership and leading outcome-based backlogs and roadmaps.
* Deep understanding of ITIL4 and driving value and continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of emerging Cloud and Data Centre technologies.
* Track record in managing organizational change, capability development, and leading dispersed teams.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, building relationships across senior levels.
* Experience leading teams through change, fostering trust and inclusion.
* Ability to respond to change with agility and inspire teams with a clear vision.
* Capability to develop ambitious visions and improve services continuously.
* Experience working with technical roles and professional communities like Digital and Data.
* Technical mastery of overseeing services, platforms, or features.
* Demonstrate civil service leadership behaviors and advocate for professional development.
* Set clear visions with collaborative delivery expertise, engaging with diverse stakeholders including suppliers.
* Awareness of industry best practices, frameworks, and processes.
