Job Title: Male Teaching Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a male Teaching Assistant for an SEMH school in Sunderland.
This alternative education provider works closely with young people and their families across Sunderland, supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many of the students have faced permanent exclusion or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. Experience supporting SEMH pupils or other vulnerable young people is highly valued. Students may have ADHD, ASC, or other needs that make mainstream settings challenging.
The school works with Key Stage 4.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:00am until 4:30pm.
The successful candidate will have:
Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
