Rates of Pay: £15.60 Location: Abergele About me: I am a 10-year-old boy with a Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, significant social communication difficulties with regression of speech and general self-help skills, non-verbal, disordered sleep pattern, ADHD resulting in high levels of activity with poor attention and concentration with impulsivity and significant sensory processing difficulties. The kind of person I am looking for is someone who: Has previous experience of working with people living with autism and a learning disability. It would be an advantage to be able to speak Welsh and English. Will promote and support confidence and independence. Has a person-centered approach and a genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals. Can follow instructions and will establish a professional standard of care, to be always maintained. Will not use their personal mobile phone at work unless in an emergency. Is trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable. Is patient and supportive with good listening skills and an ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support. Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of the family, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role. Has access to a vehicle and have a full UK driving licence, with evidence of the policy including Class 1 business use. Can work flexibly, adapting to the variable requirements of this role as required. Task and duties, to include any or all the following: To take me out into the community to attend activities I may enjoy. To take part in social activities and be open to trying new things. To improve social and life skills and promote independent living skills. I have limited speech but can make my wishes known. I have no sense of stranger danger and will approach people I do not know. I have no traffic awareness and must be always supervised, particularly by roads; the PA must always hold my hand, giving due regard to Health and Safety at all times. Positive self-esteem and self-confidence should be promoted whilst undertaking any activities. Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed. Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.
