Overview
Infrastructure Design Architect at CGI, an inclusive employer and partner with myGwork – LGBTQ+ Business Community. This role focuses on designing and delivering secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure solutions, leading architecture from pre-sales through delivery, and mentoring teams within the UKNA1 Architecture team.

Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions that meet complex business challenges.
* Shape technical strategy and drive solution design from pre-sales through delivery, ensuring architectures are optimized for performance, cost, and reliability.
* Guide and mentor others, fostering innovation and helping teams evolve to meet emerging cloud opportunities.
* Partner with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to align infrastructure with business outcomes.
* Take ownership of cloud architecture direction while collaborating with a network of experts.
* Deliver and support existing multi-cloud estates across client environments to ensure continuity, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
* Operational oversight: lifecycle management of existing multi-cloud and hybrid estates.
* Service continuity: maintain uptime and optimise cost efficiency across live cloud environments.
* Performance optimisation: identify opportunities to enhance resilience, scalability, and security.
* Incident & problem support: provide advanced technical support for major incidents, root cause analysis, and remediation.
* Governance & compliance: ensure estates meet governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
* Transition & knowledge sharing: ensure documentation, knowledge transfer, and mentoring of delivery teams.
* Lead & innovate: drive design of AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud architectures to meet evolving client needs.
* Develop & deliver: translate complex business and technical requirements into robust cloud designs.
* Optimise & automate: champion IaC, CI/CD, and automation to improve efficiency and quality.
* Collaborate & influence: work with stakeholders to define cloud strategies and assess risks.
* Evaluate & recommend: assess new technologies and leverage cloud tools and rebate systems.
* Mentor & support: guide team members and share best practices across CGI.
* Plan & propose: contribute to pre-sales activity, estimate infrastructure costs, produce proposals, and support bid responses.
Qualifications
* Required qualifications to be successful
* You should bring strong experience designing and leading cloud-based infrastructure solutions, ideally across multi-cloud environments.
* Essential Qualifications
* Proven experience delivering cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and Oracle environments.
* Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred), CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
* Familiarity with TOGAF principles and cost-driven architecture design.
* Experience producing high-quality proposals, technical documentation, and solution estimations.
* Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or Oracle).
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in capacity and performance assessment, risk management, and cost optimisation.
* Demonstrated experience supporting and optimising live cloud estates in operational environments.
