About this Role

Required for September 2025, Stopsley High School is looking to recruit a highly ambitious, knowledgeable, and dedicated Deputy SENCO and Teacher of English.

This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist, either from a Primary or Secondary School teaching background, to embrace the leadership role. The successful candidate will join our English Department and SEN Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and highly motivated teacher of English to join our large, vibrant, and forward-looking English team.

Our SEND Team is an extremely hardworking team, led by a dynamic and experienced SENCO. The team shares a passion for adaptive teaching and ensuring the delivery of an excellent academic experience for students with SEND.

Stopsley High School has been on a rapid improvement journey, including academising in September 2021 and joining the Middlesex Learning Trust. The school has benefited from collaborative networking across the three schools, opportunities to showcase best practice, and access to innovative training. This hard work culminated in a positive Ofsted report in September 2022, grading the school as “Good” in all five areas.

There are many benefits to working at Stopsley High School with Middlesex Learning Trust, including but not limited to:

* Access to fantastic facilities at Stopsley High School, including our state-of-the-art building (2016) and a free fitness suite for staff
* A comprehensive New Staff Induction programme with personalized CPD opportunities
* A supportive staff body that enjoys collaborative working
* A strong commitment to staff wellbeing
* Access to excellent teacher training via the SCITT within the Trust, based at The Compton School, graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in June 2022
* Career pathways and a history of promotion within the Trust
* Access to national CPD programmes such as Ambition Institute NPQs to develop leadership skills and specialisms
* Participation in our Talent Management Programme, designed to develop staff skills and prepare for promotion within the Trust
* Excellent public transport and road links to the UK and Europe
