Job Title: Consultant in Adult Psychiatry

Working Hours: 40 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our esteemed NHS client’s dynamic inpatient team in Newport, Hampshire. This locum position is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract, offering competitive rates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients
* Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualised treatment plans
* Provide therapeutic interventions and manage complex cases
* Offer specialist advice and contribute to the enhancement of mental health services
* Conduct ward rounds and manage ward jobs
* Review patient cases and provide feedback
* Attend relevant patient meetings when necessary
* Collaborate with the Early Intervention Team to provide integrated care
* Engage with local and national networks to elevate the profile of our centre
* Ensure all therapeutic approaches are evidence-based and effective
* Provide cross-cover across the unit as required
Qualifications and Experience:
* MRCPsych
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice
* Completion of Specialty Training (CCT) in Psychiatry
* Experience in Adult Psychiatry
* Section 12 is essential
* Approved Clinician status essential
* Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
