Job Opportunity: Retail Supervisor at Aberdeen Airport

This role is for our Discover store situated in the departure lounge of Aberdeen Airport.
We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic leader to join the team. You need a passion for retail and the ability to deliver a great customer experience by being resourceful and responsive to the changing needs of the business and team members.
Job Purpose
Outstanding service is at the heart of our business. Our aim is for customers entering our stores to be greeted by a friendly team of Sales Advisors who can offer expert help and advice. As a Supervisor, your primary role will be to manage, lead, and inspire your team to deliver high standards of customer service, increase sales, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Hours
37.5 hours, worked over 5 days
AM shift: 4am - 12:30pm | PM shift: 12:30pm - 9pm (Flexibility across both shift patterns is essential)
Bonus
Performance-based bonus scheme, paid annually upon achieving objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver customer service in line with OSCAR Service standards.
2. Generate ideas to drive the business and team forward.
3. Develop a motivated and empowered team through positive management.
4. Staff recruitment, planning, and training.
5. Use relevant processes and policies to control security of people, stock, and cash.
6. Ensure compliance with legislation and terminal safety responsibilities.
7. Control costs according to budgets.
8. Adhere to cash and stock control policies and assist others in doing so.
9. Manage a team of Sales Advisors and Replenishment Assistants.
Skills & Experience
1. Previous supervisory or managerial experience in retail or similar is essential.
2. Understanding of budgets and targets, with the ability to improve performance.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
5. Maintain professionalism under pressure.
6. Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
7. Self-motivated.
8. Quick learner regarding systems, products, and procedures.
Customer Focus
1. Manage and motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service.
2. Coach the team in line with OSCAR model.
3. Recognize and reward team excellence.
Stock Management
1. Ensure the store is fully replenished.
2. Handle goods receiving, stocktaking, and inventory compliance.
3. Complete merchandising and pricing to standard.
Housekeeping & Safety
1. Maintain a well-presented store.
2. Ensure safe use of cleaning materials.
3. Keep store and stock rooms tidy in line with H&S standards.
Security
1. Secure stock and ensure till inventory compliance.
2. Responsible for shop floor security during shifts.
3. Be aware of security risks beyond the store, considering the wider airport environment.
