Job Title: Senior Design Manager
We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Natural Resources team, focusing on projects in the Thames Valley region (North). The role involves overseeing the design phase of construction projects related to wastewater treatment upgrades and resilience works.
Location
Hybrid working from home and site/offices as needed, primarily in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and East Hyde, Bedfordshire.
Contract
Permanent, Full-Time with flexible and part-time options available upon request.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Design Manager within our NRNN business unit, you will oversee civils-based construction projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery. Your work will support Thames Water's sewage treatment Waste Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP), covering both below-ground infrastructure assets and above-ground non-infrastructure assets.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and design consultants to develop comprehensive solutions.
* Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and project documents.
* Ensure compliance with design standards, building codes, and client requirements.
* Develop and implement design management processes and procedures.
* Monitor progress, identify risks, and manage design change documentation.
What We're Looking For
This role is ideal if you have:
* Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
* Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in civils/construction.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and standards.
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM.
