A well‑established nursery in Oldbury is looking for a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team between the hours of 9‑3pm, Monday‑Friday. The nursery is committed to providing the highest quality care and tailored education for every child.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the SEN policy, following a graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review).
* Work closely with key persons, parents, and outside agencies to provide bespoke support.
* Provide specialist education and training to staff to enhance inclusion.
* Oversee records and write detailed reports for children with SEND.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
* Level 3 Paediatrics First Aid Qualification (desirable).
* English GCSE grade C/4+ (if qualified after Sept 2014).
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one).
* Proven experience as a SENCO in a nursery setting.
* Deep knowledge of the EYFS and SEND Code of Practice.
* Strong communication skills to build partnerships with families.
