This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced MRI radiographer to join our friendly, dynamic team and be part of our exciting project to redevelop our MRI service. We have just completed our new department refurbishment and installed Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners at The Royal Surrey. We have also commenced a further project to increase our scanning capacity in the community.
Candidates who have applied for any RSFT MRI post within the last six months will not be eligible to apply for this position.
Main duties of the job
* Perform MRI scans, unsupervised and to a very high standard, providing an efficient and responsive service to patients and users of the service.
* Supervise senior radiographers in MRI scanners, train and support junior radiographers, and support ancillary staff and students as required.
* Promote excellent working relations with staff across the Trust.
* Effectively contribute towards the delivery of a patient‑focused service.
Job responsibilities
* Perform MRI examinations at a constantly high technical and professional standard, evaluate the clinical quality of images produced, and seek guidance when requests fall outside departmental protocol or personal experience.
* Organise own workload within MRI and work within own professional scope of practice.
* Perform MRI examinations and associated extended professional practices, following departmental protocols.
* Prioritise service, dealing with unforeseen circumstances to maintain service continuity.
* Maintain accurate patient records to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards, including effective use of RIS and PACS.
Qualifications
* Hold an appropriate professional qualification recognised by the College of Radiographers – D.C.R. or BSc in diagnostic radiography (3‑year f/t degree).
* Registered with HCPC.
* Certificate in competence in administering IV injections, or willingness to undertake.
* Portfolio with evidence of CPD.
* Postgraduate certificate in MRI or equivalent experience.
* Certificate in competence in interpreting IOFB radiographs.
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of MHRA.
* Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Quality Control and Quality Assurance of MRI equipment.

£41,957 to £50,387 a year (per annum) includes high cost area supplements (HCAS).
