Production Manager
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join the management team of a leading manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon. This role will oversee the day-to-day running of the machine shop, driving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Group Leaders, Supervisors, and Production staff to ensure production targets are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in embedding lean manufacturing practices, managing resources effectively, and creating a culture of performance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily production operations to ensure on-time delivery and smooth workflow.
2. Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, introducing and embedding lean manufacturing tools and processes.
4. Manage production costs, track budgets, and implement cost-saving measures.
5. Ensure product quality is consistently achieved, with a focus on right-first-time and zero defects.
6. Support the maintenance of equipment and machinery through TPM processes.
7. Provide leadership, training, and performance management to your team.
8. Monitor and control inventory and stock levels, ensuring efficient use of resources.
9. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence across the site.

Essential Criteria:
10. Proven experience in a production management or supervisory role within manufacturing.
11. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
12. Experience in production planning, resource management, and process improvement.
13. Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
14. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
15. IT literate, with experience using MRP or similar systems.
Desirable:
16. Previous manufacturing engineering or systems experience.
17. Knowledge of advanced lean practices (e.g., TAKT, JIT, Kanban).
