Year 2 1:1 Teaching Assistant Wanted | BS3 | Full Time | ASAP Start
We are looking for an energetic and proactive Teaching Assistant to take on a full time 1:1 role in a Year 2 class in the BS3 area. This position is due to start as soon as possible and involves working closely with a child who can become dysregulated and needs additional support to thrive in their learning. The school is lovely and welcoming with a supportive team.
What You Will Be Doing:
•Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child in Year 2
•Helping your pupil access the curriculum and engage with classroom activities
•Supporting your pupil when they become dysregulated, using de-escalation strategies
•Supporting social, emotional and communication development
•Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
•Building a positive and trusting relationship with your pupil
•Encouraging independence and confidence in a nurturing way
•Supporting your pupil during lessons, break times and transitions throughout the day
What We Are Looking For:
•Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting
•Experience supporting children with emotional regulation needs
•A proactive and energetic approach
•Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
•Strong communication skills
•Reliability and professionalism
•An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
