This post is open to North Lanarkshire Council employees only.
As one of Scotland’s largest local authorities we are focussed on delivering quality Social Work services that put the people in our communities first.
We currently have exciting opportunities for Sessional Social Workers to join North Lanarkshire Council’s out of hours Social Work Emergency Service (SWES). SWES provides timely and creative support to individuals in urgent need or where there is a need of protection for adults and children. We work closely with both internal and external partners, working closely with colleagues in Home Support, Community Alarms and Children and Families staff who work out of hours. We know that delivering quality services starts with having the right people working in the service, with the right skills, abilities and attributes to fulfil our commitment of delivering high quality services.
SWES is a part of North Lanarkshire Council’s Education and Families Directorate. You will join our team implementing the Council’s ambitious programme of work: resilient people, supporting the transformation of our services and improving outcomes for all in our communities.
We are looking for social workers with a sound value base who can undertake good assessments in an out of hours context. You can demonstrate a commitment to providing a safe, effective and person-centred response and support. You are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for North Lanarkshire’s most vulnerable children, adults and families.
To apply you must hold a CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent and a minimum of two years post qualifying experience, including public protection. We are looking for people who possess excellent communication and writing skills and can demonstrate they have the skills and abilities to gain trust and confidence to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes. If you want to join our team at SWES, we would love to hear from you.
You will be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and you will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
In return we can offer you a positive professional working experience with a commitment to continuous professional development including access to senior practitioner status and training and support to help you transition into your new role with us.
