Part‑Time Accountant
Ramsgate, Kent | Office‑Based | Permanent
Salary - £16-£18 per hour DOE
We are working with a well‑established and friendly accountancy practice in Ramsgate that is looking to appoint an experienced Part‑Time Accountant to join their team.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working within a practice environment, is technically confident, and is happy in a busy, client‑facing office. The practice is supportive, professional, and values reliability and strong communication.
The Opportunity
This is a practical, hands‑on role supporting a small team and working directly with clients. You will be responsible for preparing draft accounts and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing draft statutory accounts from a trial balance
* Working through balance sheets and P&L statements
* Maintaining accurate working papers and records
* Responding to client queries by email, phone, and in person
* Supporting senior members of the team as required
* Operating confidently in a busy, open‑plan office environment
Please note: this role does not involve final sign‑off or corporation tax work.
About You
To be considered, you should be confident in your ability to work independently within an accountancy practice setting.
Essential:
* AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum requirement)
* Previous experience in an accountancy practice
* Confident preparing accounts from a trial balance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Comfortable dealing directly with clients
* Organised, professional, and reliable
Hours & Working Pattern
* Part‑time – 2 to 3 days per week
* Flexible working hours available
* Typical hours between 8:30am–4:00pm or 9:00am–4:00pm
* Fully office‑based (no hybrid or remote working)
