Gas Engineer – North London role at Capita. Gas Safe Register is recruiting a safety focused, gas qualified individual to join our field services team in North London (N15, N17, E17).

Primary Responsibilities
* Carry out inspections in line with our risk model and contractual obligations with HSE.
* Complete inspections against Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and internal operating procedures.
* Liaise with registered businesses to ensure defects identified are addressed within timescale.
* Ensure inspection reports are completed to the Service Level Agreement and required standard.
* Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
* Communicate effectively with registered businesses and gas consumers.
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum ACS certificates of competence: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1. Additional qualifications in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1, DAH1 are desirable.
* Experience on a variety of gas appliances and/or quality controlling of gas work.
* Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations and related codes, with ability to risk assess environments.
* Relevant Auditor qualification (D32/A1) or equivalent is desirable.
* Regularly maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness via CPD.
* Appreciation of issues affecting gas, plumbing, electrical and H&V installation businesses.
* Ability to use tools and conduct appropriate tests and checks during inspection.

Capita Business Services Ltd. (CBSL) provides the registration service for gas installation businesses across the UK, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey. The service concession is granted to Capita by the Health & Safety Executive GB, HSE NI and HSWI Isle of Man.
