Job Summary
Are you an experienced Refrigeration Engineer who can provide support to environmental systems and equipment for major automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical and scientific sites, largely in Staffordshire and Cheshire?
Basic Salary: Up to £45,000 basic. Benefits include paid overtime, 26 days holiday & bank holidays, company van, no standby, and 4% pension (rising with service). The role is home‑based with commutable locations including Warrington, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Congleton, Crewe, Stone, Northwich, Winsford, Nantwich, Altrincham, Derby, Stafford and Telford. You will be paid door-to-door, predominantly covering the area from Stoke to Warrington.

* Working Monday – Friday, great hours (08:00‑16:30) – rare in the refrigeration industry.
* Experience a variety of customers – automotive, pharmaceutical giants, tier‑1 aerospace and more.
* Constantly developing new environmental test chambers – role is ever‑changing and challenging.
The Role
Refrigeration Engineer – Service Engineer, FGAS, Electrical, ODS.
You will work as part of a sizable national refrigeration service and install team (over 20 engineers), usually covering the area between Stoke and Warrington. You will be on site every night and may only be asked to go further afield in extreme circumstances. There is paid overtime. Your work will include installation, planned service and fault‑finding reactive diagnostics covering controllers, refrigeration circuits, cooling issues, PLC updates, valves and calibration work. You will be managed by an experienced hands‑on service manager.
Responsibilities
* Competent electrically and mechanically on suitable refrigeration circuits and climatic systems.
* Conduct installation work where required, but primarily service, fault‑finding and diagnostics.
* Work independently or as part of a team after product and systems training.
Qualifications
* Experienced electrically and mechanically; ideally qualified to 18th edition and possess FGAS & ODS Regs 2079.
* Practical work experience covering commercial/industrial refrigeration, chillers or similar.
* Cascade experience is advantageous but not essential.
