Description
The Project Quality Lead is responsible for project quality planning and driving delivery of the agreed project quality plan activities for the full lifecycle of allocated vehicle programmes. This responsibility extends to cover all aspects of quality plan requirements within NPI programmes up to and including project handover to production.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with the Project Manager to understand the full timing and objectives for the programme to enable effective planning of the required quality elements.
* Develop the project quality plan covering all aspects of quality to meet the needs of the programme and ensure its communication across the quality and project teams.
* Work directly with all organisation levels within Project Management, Design, Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Aftersales to ensure focus is maintained on all aspects of quality throughout the lifecycle of the programme.
* Be accountable for the delivery of all elements of the quality plan that are owned within the Quality Team.
* Responsible for project quality targets and management reporting metrics, ensuring alignment to project requirements.
* Reporting of project progress to the Quality function and project governance boards.
* Ensure delivery of the programme to the applicable Company standards.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and support the development of the Project Lifecycle process.
* Provide programme quality management and mentorship to Engineering, Development, Quality, Business Operations, styling, and aftersales teams, focusing on ensuring release steps meet high Company Standards.
* Implement and manage the quality issue and risk processes at project and product level, ensuring issues and risks are mitigated and completed.
* Coordinate end-to-end quality analytics to measure and report project progress with effective tools and systems aligned to policies and procedures.
* Work with Homologation and Compliance to support maintenance of OEM status and conformity of production approvals.
* Lead APQP and PPAP processes, including planning and definition of their application on assigned programmes.
* Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Manager and Lead to allocate resources and ensure end-to-end oversight from project initiation to full vehicle sign-off and PSW completion.
* Define product acceptance standards and processes for validation to enable generation of certificates of conformance at vehicle level.

* Communicate project quality goals, expectations, and changes clearly to the team and wider business.
* Coordinate with other Quality leadership team members to manage day-to-day activities.
* Plan and evaluate project quality activities and delegate as required.
* In conjunction with the Quality leadership team, manage resource planning within the team/department.
* Champion the use of best practice quality tools, training, and standard work within the project.
* Manage conflict, resolve incidents, and solve problems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* Degree Qualified or equivalent relevant engineering, science numerical or quality discipline.
* Significant experience as a Quality Leader within new product introduction programmes and/or technical or engineering organisations with hands-on operational quality experience.
* Experience in leading the quality approach of a function or project level in a rapidly maturing organisation.
* Experience persuading and influencing senior project leadership and technical leaders to support a quality culture within projects.
* Good understanding and experience of verification and validation concepts.
* Experience developing, implementing, and managing APQP/PPAP processes at tactical and project levels.
* Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, with a passion for delivering objectives; comfortable challenging existing processes.
* Must be a team player.
Desirable
* Project management qualification (AMP, PMI, etc.) with experience delivering multiple projects and developing project management processes.
* Background or experience in high performance, technology, aerospace as well as automotive.
* Experience of technology development, demonstrating technology maturity.
