Overview
Forklift Operator (Receiving) – Central Hub is responsible for ensuring accurate receipt and shipment of products and dunnage, moving them to the appropriate locations in a timely and safe manner, and supporting the efficient flow of products within the Central Hub Distribution Center. The role may cross-train and perform other forklift operator duties as needed.
Responsibilities
* Regular and timely attendance; work hours include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support operations.
* Operate different types of forklifts (stand-up and sit-down) to move products safely and efficiently.
* Perform pre-trip inspections on power equipment and report any malfunctions or incidents to management.
* Offload products from outside vendors and replenishment loads; inspect conditions and quantities for accuracy and efficiency.
* Verify inbound products against BOL, quantities, and expiration dates; ensure products have 3 months or more before expiration.
* Move products to backstock and picking locations following Central Hub Receiving best practices.
* Rotate stock using FEFO in accordance with Location Base Inventory (LBI) processes.
* Document transactions in the Warehouse Management System using tablets, cell phones, and RF scanners.
* Handle packaged product carefully to prevent damage; load/offload, sort, organize, and stock dunnage as required.
* Clear returns and staging areas and relocate products to correct locations; move damaged items to designated recycling areas.
* Communicate abnormal or damaged conditions related to equipment, trailers, or products to Receiving Lead/Supervisor promptly.
* Support other areas as needed and maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work areas; mop spills as required.
* Follow SOPs, GMPs, and safety practices; participate in Food Safety training as required and report potential food safety issues.
Qualifications
* Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Experience: At least 1 year in a warehouse environment and 1 year operating a forklift required; RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred.
* Skills: Ability to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio; forklift certification; basic math; ability to learn and operate Warehouse Management Systems and Tenant Scrubber.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Inside warehouse and outdoor working conditions with temperatures varying from extreme heat to extreme cold.
* Physical: Lift/carry up to 30 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds intermittently; move pallets up to 65 pounds; sit/stand/walk as required; frequent manual manipulation and grasping; occasional climbing and crawling; PPE as required (high-visibility clothing, safety vest, safety glasses, slip-resistant shoes).
* Push/Pull: up to 12-25 pounds depending on task.
* Other: Vision, hearing, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
