The Role:
Are you an experienced Vacuum Excavator Driver seeking a stable and rewarding role? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our expanding team.
Responsibilities include:
* Operating Vacuum Excavators safely, manoeuvring and operating Vac-Ex machinery to remove soil and debris without damaging underground utilities.
* Carefully excavating around gas, water, electric, and telecom lines to prevent damage.
* Handling and disposing of excavated material in accordance with regulations.
* Performing daily checks and minor maintenance on the Vac-Ex lorry.
* Supporting groundworkers when required, especially if the Vac-Ex is out of service.
* Following safety protocols, wearing PPE, and adhering to traffic management procedures.
* Completing job logs, risk assessments, and other relevant paperwork.
* Being available for standby shifts as part of the team rota.
Candidate requirements:
Full HGV Class 2 licence with HIAB (grab) and A78 CPCS qualification for grab and Vac-Ex operation, with utility awareness and HPWJ ticket. Experience operating Vacuum Excavator lorries and working with Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) 7.5t and above is essential. A Safety Critical Medical Certificate and a willingness to work as part of a team are also important. Additional qualifications such as NRSWA (Units 1 & 2 - SLG), CPC, or EUSR certifications are advantageous. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment are beneficial.
