We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across Birkenhead and Wallasey.
This role involves working with pupils who have a range of SEMH needs, often linked to trauma, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, or attachment disorders. You’ll work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide tailored emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils engage positively in their learning.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Be calm under pressure and confident in managing challenging behaviours
• Build trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or instability
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Be passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable students

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
 3. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
 4. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
 5. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
 6. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
 7. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
 17. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
 18. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
 19. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
 20. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
 21. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
