Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a peripatetic Occupational Health (OH) service which requires travel between the base location and the assigned units.
Duties and Responsibilities
 * Manage own clinical caseload and proactively support the Service Person (SP) through their clinical pathway in accordance to best practice, current legislation, and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy.
 * Lead with change, monitor and improve clinical standards through supervision, evidence‑based practice, clinical audit, research, and education to maximise OH outputs and optimise SP employability / deployability.
 * Develop and teach OH staff, encouraging teamwork, and create an environment in which clinical practice is fostered, evaluated, and disseminated.
 * Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence‑based protocols, standards, policies, and clinical guidelines by interpreting and synthesising information from a variety of sources and promoting their use in practice.
 * Monitor the effectiveness of all clinical practices through the quality assurance strategies, such as the use of audit and peer review.
 * Actively support and, where required, lead with achieving quality targets within the Healthcare Assurance Framework (HAF) and all other assurance activities.
 * Deliver complex, specialist OH interventions (for example, implement and monitor Return to Work (RTW) plans) collaboratively with the service personnel, wider clinical team and the Chain of Command (CoC).
 * Monitor staffing levels proactively to ensure suitably skilled, experienced, and qualified members of the team are available during operating hours. Escalate shortfalls and enact business resilience planning as required.

Experience
 * Experience in Occupational Health or Vocational Rehabilitation.

Qualifications
 * An Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with current registration with an appropriate governing and regulatory body (HCPC or NMC).
 * Current Driving Licence. (This role is peripatetic and cannot be delivered using public transport).
 * Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post‑graduate study relating to practice area.
 * Experience of Armed Forces healthcare, either in the single service or tri‑service environment.
